Rockhurst University Adds Master of Arts in Management Degree
For Rockhurst University, the new year brings a new opportunity for students: the University’s first Master of Arts degree. This milestone Master of Arts is in management, and will be housed within Rockhurst’s Helzberg School of Management.
“The degree is designed for early to mid-career individuals who are being asked to manage and lead people, projects or initiatives within their company or organization,” said Cheryl McConnell, dean of the Helzberg School. “Through this program, students will be able to lead their teams and businesses more effectively, efficiently and ethically.”
With this new addition, McConnell says the Helzberg School now offers a well-rounded range of options for students at all career levels, from the Helzberg MBA to post-MBA specialty certificates to Executive MBA and data science certificate programs.
“When selecting new academic programs to pursue, we start by listening to the needs of regional organizations,” said McConnell. “It’s our goal to offer high-quality, affordable, convenient development options for their employees. This program opens new doors for the University and its students.”
The degree consists of 35-37 credit hours divided into foundation, management core, concentration and elective courses. Students can choose from three concentrations when earning their M.A. in management, including organizational leadership and development, health care management, and nonprofit administration.
Rockhurst’s Master of Arts in management program will be taught by the same faculty who teach in the University’s already established Management MBA program, currently ranked No. 21 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
The Helzberg School is accepting applications for this new program, with orientation on Tuesday, March 4, and classes starting the week of March 10, 2014.
