Film Screening with Department of Modern Languages: Valentin

Please join us for FREE film screening of the film Valentín, (2002), with the Rockhurst University Department of Modern Languages and hosted by Robert Vigliotti, Ph.D., Rockhurst associate professor of philosophy. Directed by Alejandro Agresti, this film features eight-year-old Valentín who lives with his grandmother in Buenos Aires in the late 1960s. Valentín discovers that his family has problems that only he can solve. Specifically, he dreams of being reunited with his mother, who is separated from Valentín's abusive father who uses him to attract new girlfriends like the attractive Leticia, whom Valentín himself befriends. Rocío De la Rosa Duncan Ph.D., Rockhurst professor, department of modern languages and literatures, will introduce the film. You must register here in advance to take part in this screening.
