"Funeral Anthem on the Death of Queen Caroline" and "Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened"
Handel’s “Funeral Anthem of 1737” reflects both the solemnity of the death of Queen Caroline, the consort of King George II, and the composer’s personal grief as the queen studied music with Handel. “Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened” is one of four anthems written by Handel for the coronation of George II.
