EMBA Student and Alumni Reception

Alumni and students of the Executive MBA program are invited to a private reception hosted by the Dean's Office and Office of Alumni Relations. There will be opportunities for networking, as well as a short program where EMBA alumnus, Dr. David Wild, '19 EMBA, will be presented with the university's St. Ignatiaus Alumni Award. The award is presented annually to an alumnus/a to recognize his/her outstanding accomplishments, leadership, and reflection of Jesuit values in his/her professional career.

About David Wild

Dr. David Wild is a board-certified anesthesiologist with expertise in anesthesia for solid organ transplantation, major vascular procedures, and adult spine surgeries and an accomplished healthcare executive leader with expertise in clinical operations, physician relations, clinical and operational analytics, and performance improvement.  He is a compelling and energizing physician executive leading at the intersection of medicine, public health, and information technology, expertly bridging the gap between clinical and business components of healthcare with products, services, and leaders that create value and drive inspirational change.

Dr. Wild completed his undergraduate and M.D. degrees at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his residency training in Anesthesiology at Saint Louis University.  He completed a fellowship in health policy and leadership in 2018 through the Advisory Board and his executive MBA in 2019 at Rockhurst University.

 Dr. Wild started his academic and professional career at Saint Louis University and Saint Louis University Hospital, where he was faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and served in multiple operational and leadership roles before joining the University of Kansas Health System and University of Kansas Medical Center in 2012.  Over nearly a decade at these organizations, Dr. Wild served as faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology, on multiple University committees, and in several leadership roles, most recently as Vice President of Performance Improvement and Physician Executive where he had responsibility for process, performance, and quality improvement work, the development and deployment of the System’s improvement and management systems, applied analytics, clinical variation reduction programs, and clinical and operational redesign across the continuum of care. 

 Dr. Wild is a clinical quality expert, speaking and writing regularly at the national level, advising and coaching growing individuals and new and experienced organizations in improving performance, removing barriers in accessing care, and developing and deploying new solutions and technologies.  He is an experienced data translator and expert in leading diverse teams in diverse environments to patient care excellence.  Dr. Wild has extended his service to the community through numerous professional organizations, relationships with public health officials and departments, the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, school districts across the metro, and not-for-profit organizations of all sizes.

 David is husband to Kayla, a breast cancer nurse, and proud father of two boys, Carter, 13, and Owen, 5.  Together, the family loves to travel, hike, spend time in the mountains, ride bikes, ski, read, and watch movies.
