What is the application deadline?
Every school has a different deadline for applications to come in, and some don’t even have a hard date. Rockhurst, for example, has rolling admissions, meaning that we’ll give priority to students who submit an application by December 1st, but we may still have room for more!
Are there deadlines for financial aid?
The priority deadline for the FAFSA is February 1st, so be sure to get that filled out by then. Other scholarships have certain deadlines. Many of Rockhurst’s are due in February as well. If you anticipate needing financial aid for your college experience, it’s best to complete those applications as soon as you’ve finished your school application.
Do I have to accept admission by a certain date?
Rockhurst requires deposits to be submitted by May 1st which is National College Candidate Reply Day. To keep your place in the fall class, make sure to have that day circled on your calendar!
Am I ready for college yet?
This is the other side to the initial questions. You should apply to college when you feel ready to take that leap. Many students take a gap year between their senior year of high school and freshman year of college to get life experience and figure out what they may want to pursue. Our admissions counselors are here to walk you through the process and help in any way they can.
