Visiting Assistant Professor - Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at Rockhurst University invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics position, beginning in August 2016.  We are a collaborative department that actively engages students in the learning process and promotes innovative teaching styles, the use of technology in the classroom, and undergraduate research.

Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.  In addition to teaching the full range of undergraduate mathematics courses, responsibilities will include mentoring of student research projects, and participation in departmental service activities like assessment and outreach programs.

Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Mathematics/Statistics Education.  Teaching experience at the college level is required.

Assistant Professor, Department of Physics

The Department of Physics at Rockhurst University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in physics at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 1, 2016.  We are a collaborative department that actively engages students in the learning process and promotes innovative teaching styles, the use of technology in the classroom, and undergraduate research.

Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.   Teaching responsibilities will include the full range of undergraduate physics courses with occasional undergraduate student research projects.  Service and scholarship activity is also expected for tenure and promotion.  Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree and teaching experience at the college level.
