Assistant Professor Position – Biochemistry

The Chemistry Department at Rockhurst University invites applications for tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of biochemistry.  A Ph.D. in chemistry with a significant emphasis in biochemistry or a PhD in biochemistry is required and post-doctoral experience is preferred.  Experience teaching biochemistry at the undergraduate level is strongly preferred.  The position begins in the Fall of 2016 and includes expectations in teaching, advising, institutional service as well as the establishment of a research program capable of involving undergraduate students.

Assistant Professor, Department of Theology and Religious Studies

Rockhurst University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Theology & Religious Studies.  Candidate must possess a Ph.D. by time of appointment in August 2016 and be able to teach an Introduction to World Religions course and upper level undergraduate courses in Buddhism and Hinduism; competency in Islamic traditions preferred but not required.  Responsibilities involve a 3/3 teaching load, participation in departmental and university service, as well as scholarship.  Preference given to candidate with evidence of effective teaching and demonstrated commitment to scholarly activity.  All submissions (a letter of interest and CV) must be sent electronically to daniel.stramara@rockhurst.edu.  Please have three letters of recommendation e-mailed as pdfs directly to Dr. Daniel F. Math Adjuncts

Rockhurst University is looking for part-time mathematics instructors to teach Calculus and Precalculus for the fall semester of 2015.  Possible class times include MWF 10:00 – 10:50, TR 8:00 – 9:15, and MTWR 12:20 – 1:10. The semester begins on August 19th and ends with finals on December 15th.

Assistant Professor of Healthcare Management

Helzberg School of Management

Rockhurst University’s Helzberg School of Management is seeking candidates for a full – time tenure track Assistant Professor of Healthcare Management position beginning in August 2015.  The Helzberg School of Management is accredited through AACSB International and is the only accredited private institution in the area. 

Rockhurst University's business school offers undergraduate and master’s level business programs, including an executive MBA program. The Helzberg School of Business is AACSB accredited with more than 40 full and part-time faculty.  Our part-time MBA program in management has been ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News and World Report and is the top ranked program in Kansas City. 

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties): 
The appointment has a 3/3 course load with the primary responsibility of teaching healthcare and other courses in our MBA, MA in Management and our dual DO/MBA programs.  In addition, candidates will be expected to teach at the undergraduate level and in related business school fields.

Responsibilities include:  teaching graduate/undergraduate courses, scholarship, collaborating with others, and advising students.  Rockhurst University and the Helzberg School require a strong commitment to high quality teaching, scholarship, as well as service to the university, school, and the external community. 

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. or earned doctorate in Healthcare, Healthcare Management, or a related field (exceptional ABDs are encouraged to apply, but would be required to complete their degrees within one year from the time of their appointment). 

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Training and Experience): 
Specialties and research interest in two or more of the following areas: healthcare policy, healthcare systems, health informatics, practice management, or quality.
