Assistant Professor Position – Organic Chemistry

The Chemistry Department at Rockhurst University invites applications for tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of organic chemistry.  A Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field is required and post-doctoral experience is preferred.  Experience teaching the organic chemistry sequence at the undergraduate level is strongly preferred.  The position begins in the Fall of 2015 and includes expectations in teaching, advising, institutional service as well as the establishment of a research program capable of involving undergraduate students. The Chemistry Department offers and ACS-approved BS degree.

Visiting Assistant Professor – Political Science

The Department of Political Science is seeking a candidate for a one year visiting assistant professor position possibly renewable beginning in Fall Semester, 2015.  Teaching load is 21 hours in an academic year.  Candidate must have an awareness of and interest in the educational mission of Jesuit higher education.

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Political Science.  Teaching experience with documented evidence of strong teaching is required.  Documented evidence of scholarly work is also required, and the candidate will be expected to pursue an active research agenda while at Rockhurst.  Teaching responsibilities will require strong academic backgrounds in the discipline subfields of American Politics, Normative Theory and Public Policy with courses at the introductory as well as upper division level in an undergraduate degree program.   Additional responsibilities will include other departmental and university service.

Visiting Professor – Health Care Management

Helzberg School of Management

Rockhurst University Helzberg School of Management is seeking a full time visiting professor in our Health Care Management program beginning in August 2014. The Helzberg School of Management is accredited through AACSB International and is the only accredited private institution in the area.

This position is for two years and may be convertible to a tenure-track position. Candidates should hold a doctorate in a related field, exceptional ABD’s considered.  Candidates must have teaching experience in two or more of the following subject areas:  Health Care Management, Health Care Quality Improvement, Health Care Information Technology or Practice Management.   In addition, candidates will be expected to teach in other business school fields as appropriate.

Responsibilities include: teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, advising students, and collaborating with others in the university setting.  A commitment to scholarly activities and service both to Rockhurst and the external community is also required.
