RU Spring Semester Orientation

New Student Orientation

Congratulations on your enrollment at Rockhurst University! The Office of Student Life welcomes you to the Hawk family. The role of our office is to introduce you to RU and provide support during your transition. If you have already placed your deposit you will soon be receiving via U.S. Mail a newsletter and checklist with a great deal of information. Please review all the information for details on what to complete before classes begin.

New student orientation is your first experience at Rockhurst. It is expected that you attend the Transfer Orientation program. It is an abbreviated program that explains what to expect from your Rockhurst experience and introduces you to resources available to you. This orientation program is on Friday, January 10, 2020 in the Magis Activity Center (MAC). A continental breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. and the program begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes by 11:00 a.m. Please feel free to bring a guest or two with you.

Please be sure to RSVP for orientation by Monday, January 6, 2020. Reservations for orientation will be taken after January 6 for those who place their Rockhurst deposit after the RSVP deadline.

Transfer Student Checklist to Complete Before Orientation

  • Meet with an academic advisor and schedule classes.
  • Pick up your Rockhurst ID card from Computer Services in Conway Hall (fourth floor) and set up your Rockhurst email.
  • Learn how to view your class schedule and other important student information through Your login is your Rockhurst User name and password you established when setting up your email.
  • RSVP for Orientation by January 6, 2020.
  • Complete the two online courses no later than January 31, 2020 Instructions will be emailed to your Rockhurst email.
  • Review your schedule of fall classes and order books online:
  • If you received accommodations at your previous school, visit the Disability Resource Center or call 816-501-4826.
  • If you have health insurance, complete the online health insurance waiver by January 17, 2020 at
  • Submit your immunizations and complete the TB questionnaire:
  • Tuition and fees emailed to your Rockhurst email November 25th. Make payment arrangements or pay the bill in full by January 3.
  • If choosing to live on campus, make sure housing is established, Massman Hall Room 3 (lower level) or 816-501-4663
  • Be sure that all CLEP exam, AP scores and transcripts are sent to the Registrars Office, Rockhurst University, 1100 Rockhurst Road, Kansas City, MO 64110.
