RU Transfer Orientation

“Rockhurst

Congratulations on your enrollment at Rockhurst University! The Office of Student Life welcomes you to the Hawk family. The role of our office is to introduce you to RU and provide support during your transition. If you have already placed your deposit you will soon be receiving via U.S. Mail a newsletter and checklist with a great deal of information. Please review all the information for details on what to complete before classes begin.

New student orientation is your first experience at Rockhurst. As a transfer student, you have a choice of which program to attend. It is expected that you attend one. The Transfer Orientation program is an abbreviated program that explains what to expect from your Rockhurst experience and introduces you to resources available to you. This orientation program is on Friday, August 9, in Arrupe Hall Room 114. A continental breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. and the program begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes by 11:00 a.m. Please feel free to bring a guest or two with you. If you have previously attended a university with a traditional orientation this would be the choice for you.

Register for 1-Day Transfer Orientation

If you wish for a more traditional orientation, we would enjoy your attendance at our 3-Day Orientation instead of the Transfer Orientation described previously. The 3-Day Orientation is Friday, August 16, through Sunday, August 18. This program is geared toward the traditional undergraduate student and it affords you the opportunity to meet more people and become acquainted with Rockhurst resources, traditions and student life opportunities.

Each student is placed on a team led by two upperclassmen and is guided through educational and entertaining events during the three days. You can find the schedule at rockhurst.edu/orientation for more details. Please choose an orientation option no later than Friday, August 2.

Register for Traditional 3-Day Orientation

Please be sure to RSVP for either orientation by Friday, August 2, at 4:30 p.m. Reservations for orientation will be taken after August 2 for those who place their Rockhurst deposit after the RSVP deadline.

We look forward to meeting you at an orientation! If you have any questions, call or email Angie Carr Robinett, M.A
