RU's White named to Academic All-American Third Team
Rockhurst senior defender Patrick White of Overland Park, Kan. (St. Thomas Aquinas), has been named to the ESPN College Division Academic All-America Men's Soccer Third Team.
An accounting major with a 3.97 grade point average, White was named to the Academic All-GLVC team last year. He was on the Dean's Honor Roll and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma business fraternity.
White scored seven points on two goals and three assists in 2010. He finished with 24 shots, eight shots on goal and two game-winning goals. In his two seasons at Rockhurst, White amassed 16 points on five goals and six assists. He was named to the All-GLVC Second Team this year and has received Daktronics All-Region honors the past two years.
The ESPN Academic All-America program is administered nationwide by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
