Women’s Basketball: Hawks post 62-54 win over Baker
Freshman guard Kendall Hart scored 20 points to lead Rockhurst to a 62-54 victory over Baker Friday night at RU’s Mason-Halpin Field House. Hart connected on six-of-nine three-point field goals.
The Hawks ended the first half on a 9-1 run to take a 27-19 halftime lead. Rockhurst took control of the game midway through the second half behind a 14-2 run in taking a 43-33 lead.
Allison Streich finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Lauren Meyers and Melanie Siscos came off the bench to combine for 13 points and nine rebounds.
On Saturday, Rockhurst went on a late run before falling to Southwest Baptist 65-59. The Hawks trailed 37-24 at halftime and fell behind by 18 points in the second half.
Senior forward Kara McFarland posted 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Hart collected 11 points, five rebounds and three blocks. Streich added eight points and seven rebounds.
The Hawks, 1-2, host Saint Mary (Kan.) on Monday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m.
