Men's Soccer: Hawks post 4-1 win at Truman
Junior forward Mark Magee celebrated his birthday by assisting on three goals to power Rockhurst to a 4-1 victory over Truman State on Tuesday in Kirksville, Mo. Magee now leads the 16th-ranked Hawks with 17 points and tops the Great Lakes Valley Conference with seven assists.
Lucas De Rossi opened the scoring with a pass from Magee at the 13:59 mark. Jordan Giacoletto scored his first goal of the season, with an assist from Nate Siesener, to give Rockhurst a 2-0 halftime lead. Ruben Perez tallied his second goal of the season in the 63rd minute. Keith Williams capped the scoring with a goal in the 89th minute. Magee assisted on the final two goals.
The Hawks outshot Truman 16-12. Magee paced Rockhurst with five shots. Williams added three shots. Junior goalkeeper Ryan Bass finished with one save. He ranks fourth in the GLVC in goals against average (0.60) and is the co-leader in shutouts (5) in the GLVC.
Rockhurst takes an 8-1-2 overall record into a Friday match at Kentucky Wesleyan at 12:00 p.m.
