Rockhurst University Presents Condoleezza Rice on Leadership
Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will visit Kansas City Wednesday, March 4, 2015, as the keynote speaker for the Rockhurst University Leadership Series luncheon. She will share insights drawn from her expertise on global issues, national security and education.
Rice, who served as the first African-American female and second female Secretary of State from 2005-09, is a professor of political science at Stanford University. She also is the Denning Professor in Global Business and the Economy at the Graduate School of Business and the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution.
The Rockhurst University Leaders Council presents the Leadership Series, which is sponsored this year by the Kansas City chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. Previously the series has hosted columnist George Will and broadcast journalist Dan Rather.
“Our goal is to bring prominent leaders to Kansas City to prompt conversation, especially in the business community, about what constitutes strong leadership,” said Mark Teahan, chairman of the Leadership Series. “Because Rockhurst University is known for developing leaders in all fields, it’s a topic we passionately promote.”
