COVID-19 Guidelines for Campus Athletic Facilities
Athletic Facility Protocols
Outdoor Facilities:
Bourke Field, Loyola Park baseball and softball fields, Lower Bourke, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, and Loyola Park tennis courts:
· Users of outdoor facilities will be asked to complete Campus Clear prior to accessing the facility.
· Masks will not be required for participants during their outdoor physical activity. Spectators will be required to wear a mask.
· Social distancing should be followed on sidelines and when possible during activity.
· As is normal procedure, athletic teams take priority over student or employee usage.
Mason-Halpin Fieldhouse
· Fieldhouse will be opened for athletic use only beginning Aug. 31.
· Team practices will begin with coaches’ supervision beginning Sept. 8.
· A temperature check station is installed for each athlete to check temperature upon arrival.
· Players will also be required to complete a Campus Clear self-evaluation each day prior to facility use.
· No sharing of water bottles or towels permitted.
· The cleaning schedule will be coordinated with physical plant.
· The players will use hand sanitizer as well as cleaning products provided for any equipment.
· No spectators allowed under present conditions.
Convocation Center:
· Convocation gym will open for limited recreational use by student/faculty/staff beginning Sept. 8.
· Cleaning schedule will be coordinated with physical plant, augmented by night cleaning crew.
· Temperature check station installed for each person to check temperature upon arrival.
· Recreational use by student/faculty/staff weekday hours: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. (when team practices are not in session). Weekend hours: noon-5:00.
· Ample amounts of hand sanitizer and cleaning products will be provided.
· All participants are asked to practice social distancing and wear masks when entering and exiting the building - and when not fully participating on the court.
· For athletic participation, there is a limit of 30 individuals in the gym.
· No spectators are allowed at this time.
Intramurals Sports
· Intramurals may begin on Sept. 8 and will initially be made up of non-contact, outdoor sports.
· Participation will allow social distancing.
· Spectators will be required to wear a mask.
· Campus Clear and temperature checks will be required prior to participation.
