Relay For Life won’t be too far from home this year. In April, Rockhurst University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City will partner up to bring the fundraising event to Rockhurst’s campus.
“This is the first year we are doing this at Rockhurst,” Kim Patterson, the Omaha junior who is organizing the event for campus, said. “It’s going to be a big deal.”
The event will kick off at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31 in the fishbowl at Massman Hall. The kickoff party will feature more information about the event, and stories about students surviving cancer, as well as snacks and door prizes.
Patterson said there are already 25 teams signed up. She hopes this year they can beat last year’s number of 500 participants.
