Calling all members of the Class of 1971! Mark your calendars, retrieve your favorite Rockhurst gear, and head for Kansas City to celebrate your 50 Year (Golden Hawk) Reunion at Rockhurst University! This memorable weekend will be filled with opportunities to spend time with your classmates and relive old memories, all while enjoying time back on campus and in Kansas City.

The schedule for this year is still being created, however, please review the schedule below from a previous reunion to get an idea of what you can look forward to! Formal invitiations and registration will be sent in June.

Schedule of Reunion Events (subject to change)

Thursday, Sept. 19 - Class of 1969 Happy Hour - Brady's (formerly Mike's Tavern) 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Kick off the weekend at a class happy hour! It is no longer Mike's Tavern, but Brady's will still provide a great space for you to gather with your classmates. Light appetizers will be provided. Following the happy hour, guests are invited to make their own dinner plans.

Friday, Sept. 20 - Golden Hawks Society BBQ (Pedro Arrupe, S.J., Hall, Rockhurst University) 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m
Join your classmates and Golden Hawks from previous years for cocktail hour and delicious barbecue dinner. All members of the Class of 1969 will have the opportunity to be a part of the official class reunion photo. Dress is business casual. Cost to attend is $25 per person and includes all food and beverage.

Stick around after dinner and see the Hawk's mens soccer game scheduled for 7:30 p.m. All members of the class are invited to enjoy the game from the alumni beer garden adjacent to the soccer field.

Saturday, Sept. 21 - Campus Tours and Lunch (meet in Einstein Brothers Bagels in Massman Hal) 11 a.m.
See all the exciting changes and additions to campus over the last 50 years on a guided tour from a Rockhurst University student ambassador. Students will answer all your questions about current student life and their experience on campus. Bring your walking shoes, the tour lasts between 60-90 minutes. Lunch will be provided following the tour. 

Saturday, Sept. 21 - Family and Alumni Weekend University Mass (St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church) 4 p.m.
Join the Rockhurst University community for a Mass celebrated by Rockhurst University President, the Rev. Thomas B. Curran, S.J. Tell the ushers you are with the Class of 1969 and they will guide you to your reserved seats.

Saturday, Sept. 21 - Class of 1969 Dinner with the President (Greenlease Library) 5 p.m.
Following Mass come over to Greenlease Library for cocktail hour and dinner for your final evening on campus. Prior to dinner being served, Fr. Tom Curran will provide a university update and answer questions from the audience. Dress attire for the evening is business casual. Cost is $35 per person and includes all food and drink.

Alumni Profile

Completed alumni profile forms are requested to be returned back to the alumni office by Monday, July 15. All class members who complete a form will receive a copy of the profile. The form can be downloaded, printed, and mailed.

Coming in from out of town? There are blocks of rooms available for members of class. Just ask for the "Rockhurst University Golden Hawks Reunion" room block. Hotel options are both near the Country Club Plaza. Room rates are offered through August 20.
