Class of 1970 and 1971 Golden Hawk Reunion

Class of 1970 and 1971, mark your calendars and make plans to join your classmates back in Kansas City at Rockhurst University for a memorable, fun-filled weekend. Official reunion events begin Thursday evening and run through Saturday evening. In between campus events there will be plenty of opportunities for you to check out some of Kansas City's best attractions!
Schedule of Reunion Events (subject to change):
Thursday, Sept. 28 - Class of 1970 and 1971 Happy Hour - Gaels Public House (formerly Mike's Tavern) 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Kick off the weekend at a class happy hour! It is no longer Mike's Tavern, but Gaels will still provide a great space for you to gather with your classmates. Light appetizers will be provided. Following the happy hour, guests are invited to make their own dinner plans.
Friday, Sept. 29 - Golden Hawks Society BBQ (Magis Activity Center, Rockhurst University) 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m
Join your classmates and Golden Hawks from previous years for cocktail hour and delicious barbecue dinner. All members of the Class of 1970 will have the opportunity to be a part of the official class reunion photo. Dress is business casual. Cost to attend is $35 per person and includes all food and beverage.
Stick around after dinner and see the Hawk's mens soccer game scheduled for 7:30 p.m. All members of the class are invited to enjoy the game from the alumni beer garden adjacent to the soccer field at the Perch.
Saturday, Sept. 30 - Alumni Campus Tours & Golden Hawks Luncheon (meet at the patio in front of Massman Hall) 11 a.m.
See all the exciting changes and additions to campus over the last 50 years on a guided tour from Rockhurst University student ambassadors and a chance to meet Sandra Cassady, Ph.D., Rockhurst University President. Students will answer all your questions about current student life and their experience on campus. Bring your walking shoes, the tour lasts between 60-90 minutes. A luncheon will be provided following the tour.
Saturday, Sept. 30 - Family and Alumni Weekend University Mass (Kinerk Commons, by the Bell Tower Pergola) 4 p.m.
Join the Rockhurst community for Mass on Saturday afternoon celebrated by our Vice President for Mission and Ministry, Rev. Stephen Hess, S.J. Meet by the Pergola for this outdoor liturgy. Rain-out location is Mabee Chapel.
Saturday, Sept. 30 - Alumni of the 70's Reunion (hosted at the home of Marny Donnelly Sherman, '75) 6 p.m.
Join alumni from the entire decade for an evening of fun! Golden Hawks are invited to make their way to Marny's home for a 70's party with classmates and friends. If you haven't attended this annual tradition in the past, now is the perfect opportunity!
