Zoom Virtual Event

Join us for an online presentation about ArtSpeaks, a program designed for medical and healthcare professionals and students with the objective of improving whole patient care. This interactive presentation will model the ArtSpeaks gallery sessions developed by Kristy Peterson and Dr. Karen Schell in 2016. Participants will be invited to engage with the presenter and each other as they look at and discuss varied works of art for the purpose of enhancing observation and communication skills, considering the role of empathy and emotional response, and exploring personal bias. Kristy Peterson is the Director of the Center for Arts and Letters at Rockhurst University and has worked independently with medical and healthcare students and faculty in art museums since 2008 at varied cultural institutions.
