"Amid the Burning Layers of Grace: A Contemplative Approach to Science”

As the Frank B. Mallory Professor of Chemistry at Bryn Mawr College and an adjunct at the Vatican Observatory, Dr. Michelle Francl has spent years reflecting upon the intersection of science and faith. This year’s Rev. William Rossner, S.J., Lecture will explore approaching science from a contemplative perspective. Participants interested in attending this live FREE lecture must register here in advance.

Michelle Francl, Ph.D., leads a quantum chemistry research team at Bryn Mawr College, where she is a professor of chemistry and an adjunct scholar at the Vatican Observatory. She brings into balance the world of science and spirituality by writing not only about her quantum mechanics research, but also about living a contemplative life. For her, science is a religious experience, as scientists are contemplative in ways similar to monks. Read some of Francl's writings on her Quantum Theology blog.
