Film Series - "La reina de España" (The Queen of Spain)

The Rockhurst Film Series and the university’s Department of Modern Languages will present three films on consecutive Thursdays in September. Faculty will introduce the films and conduct post-film discussions. Screenings begin at 7 p.m. in Arrupe Hall Auditorium. Admission is free.

La reina de España (The Queen of Spain) (2016, Spain)

This comedy-drama, written and directed by Fernando Trueba and a sequel to his 1998 drama, The Girl of Your Dreams, tells the story of Marcarena Granada, played by Penêlope Cruz. Marcarena, who has achieved Hollywood stardom, returns to Spain to film a smash hit about Queen Isabella I of Castile. Introduction by Leslie Merced, Ph.D. (In Spanish with English subtitles)
