Musica Sacra Chorus and Orchestra Presents Bach and Handel-CANCELLED

Sunday, April 26, 2020 - 7:30pm
Arrupe Hall Auditorium

Professional vocal soloists join Musica Sacra in two exciting works. George Frideric Handel’s Funeral Anthem on the Death of Queen Caroline is one of the composer’s most mature and profound works, expressing his personal grief at the passing of England’s Queen Caroline in 1737. The consort of George II, Caroline was a music student of Handel. Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantata Nach dir, Herr, verlanget michwas so admired by Johannes Brahms that Brahms used music from Bach’s work as the basis of the finale of his own Symphony No. 4. This concert is cancelled.
