Mabee Theater

Rockhurst Theater concludes its 2018-19 season with William Shakespeare's comedy “A Midsummer Night's Dream,” directed by Matthew Schmidli. The play portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta, the former queen of the Amazons. Included in this adventure are the stories of four young Athenian lovers and a group of six amateur actors (the mechanicals) who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest.

Shakespeare wrote “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in 1595-96, and, to this day, it remains one of the world’s most popular works.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 12; 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13; and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14. Tickets, sold at the door, are $10 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens.

Parking is free and open to the public in campus lots, including restricted lots, accessed through the campus entrance at 54th and Troost Ave.
