“American Made: What Happens to People When Work Disappears?”

The same economic trends affect Americans in very different ways. Embedded in an Indiana factory on the verge of closing down, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Farah Stockman explored the intersection of work and identity in the lives of three employees who each derived very different meanings from the forces changing their paths forever. Stockman will tell their stories and discuss the way class, race, gender and other variables color our interpretations of work in America today as she delivers the Alpha Sigma Nu/Rev. Vincent F. Daues, S.J., Lecture at Rockhurst University. This lecture is free and open to all. A reception and book signing follows the talk. Register here.
