Dr. Darden is a licensed psychologist. He received his B.A. from Rice University (Houston, Texas), his Masters of Divinity (M. Div.) degree from Columbia Theological Seminary (Decatur, Georgia), and his Ph. D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. During graduate school he had the opportunity to work in community mental health and did group and individual counseling with residents in a substance abuse rehabilitation center. He has experience working with individuals, couples, groups and has worked as a corporate trainer and an executive coach. Both his pre-doctoral and post-doctoral internships were completed in a university counseling center. In addition, Elbert served as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church at the administrative and congregational level. In his free time, Elbert enjoys spending time with his family, his dog, and gardening. An avid sports fan, he confines his interest mainly to watching now more than participating. Elbert is married and has two children.
