Biography 

Dr. Veronica Fierro, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an assistant professor in the department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She also works clinically as a bilingual speech-language pathologist, mostly conducting bilingual (English/Spanish) speech-language evaluations. Dr. Fierro has been a speech-language pathologist for 20 years. Her research interests include treatment and assessment in bilingual populations, as well as multicultural and global issues in speech-language pathology. Dr. Fierro teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, including Transcription Phonetics, Clinical Management of Pediatric Populations, Pediatric Speech Sound Disorders, Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in CSD, Concepts and Practices of Research, and Counseling in CSD. She is a member of the Kansas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (KSHA), the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and a member of ASHA's Special Interest Groups in Cultural and Linguistic Diversity.
