Not living on Campus next Year?

As a newly accepted or current Rockhurst University student, you will use this website to apply for campus housing, sign your contract (lease agreement), pay your $200 housing application/security deposit fee with a credit card (new students only), and submit your housing preferences. All of the information is here to make your housing application experience quick and easy.

Please follow the simple housing application instructions below. Before proceeding to the on-line application all students should download and print the Housing Contract Packet. Please review this contract thoroughly before accepting the terms and conditions in the Housing Contract.  Note:  If you plan to live in Xavier-Loyola Hall and wish to rent a loft, please go to www.loftconcepts.com to order your loft. Not all X-L rooms have bunk-able beds. Lofts cannot be rented through the Residence Life office; McGee Hall and Corcoran Hall already have loft-able furniture so those residents do not need to rent lofts.   All lofts ordered by July 10th will be set up in advance of the student's arrival on campus.

Housing Assignments will be emailed and mailed to students’ permanent addresses by July 1.  By completing this housing contract you are committing to live on campus for the full 2009-2010 academic year (unless granted an exemption by the Office of Residence Life.)  To cancel this housing contract you must submit the Contract Cancellation form by May 8, 2009 to avoid fall housing charges on your student account.  If you complete an application for the new contract year, your housing security deposit is non-refundable and will be lost if the contract is cancelled before the completion of the full academic year [May, 2010].

Welcome Teach for America Corps members!

Rockhurst University offers several different housing options for Teach for America corps members.  Rockhurst has accommodations that include traditional residence hall rooms, townhouses, and University owned houses adjacent to campus.  By living in Rockhurst housing you have the convenience of living close to your classes and several dining options.  All Rockhurst property is patrolled by our university security department, and we have full time staff available to you should a need arise.  Best of all, housing and meal fees can be charged to your student account and can be paid with student loans or other eligible grants!

Contract Forfeiture Notice: Group applications for Townhouse Village or On-Campus Housing become final contracts as of the date of the group house award.  Any student cancelling out of an awarded group contract is subject to a $300 cancellation fee as well as forfeiture of the housing security deposit.

For Residence Hall students, should the student cancel the contract prior to the fall move-in date, the student will only lose the $200 security deposit.  After the fall move-in date [August 15, 2009], a housing cancellation will result in both the loss of the security deposit as well as a $300 housing contract cancellation fee that will be charged to the student's account.

Students not planning to live on Campus?

Freshmen and Sophomore students from the Kansas City area who will be living at home with a parent must complete and submit a Residency Exemption Form . Forms must be submitted to the Office of Residence Life before the start of fall classes. (Students enrolling in spring semester must submit the form prior to the start of Spring classes). The Residency exemption is valid until the start of the next academic year.

Students who are graduating, transferring, or otherwise meet one of our Residency Requirements must complete the Housing Deposit Refund form (PDF 64KB) to have their housing deposit returned at the end of the current academic year. Any housing damages or fines will first be posted to students' account. Once the Deposit Return form is received the Office of Residence Life will credit your account after your room check out is completed. Credits are applied to any outstanding student account balances. The Business Office issues refund checks to students.

We hope your application process has been quick and easy. If you have further questions please contact the Office of Residence Life at 816.501.4663.
