Prepare
for success

Your college years will be a time of great discovery. Not only will you discover how to arrange your class schedule so you have Friday afternoons off, or which pizza places deliver at midnight, or how to do your own laundry, but you'll discover yourself. This is the time to establish your goals, find your passions and learn about yourself.

Rockhurst can help you in this discovery. Our distinctive approach to education teaches students how to think, not what to think, and it has lead U.S. News and World Report to consistently rank Rockhurst among the top Midwest Master's Universities.

Every fall, hundreds of new students get their first taste of college life in Rockhurst's four-day New Student Orientation. It's a great opportunity to make new friends, get to know the campus, and learn about Rockhurst and Kansas City.

Letter from the Director of New Students

Welcome to Rockhurst University. I am here to help you succeed!

The biggest challenge of most students' college experience is transitioning into a new academic setting. Throughout your first year, I am available to answer your questions and meet with you individually about issues such as time management and personal and social challenges that may detract from your studying. I track mid-term grades of all new students and arrange appointments with those who receive below average grades, helping them identify the source of the problem and devise more productive strategies.

Above all, we at Rockhurst welcome the opportunity to help you establish and achieve your personal goals.
