Service

Miller Family Service Scholarships

Campus Ministry awards several Miller Family Service Scholarships to undergraduate students who are dedicated to service work. These grants allow them to "volunteer for tuition" during their winter and summer breaks. For more information, contact Maureen Henderson at 816-501-4869.

Winter and Spring Break Service Immersion Trips

Students at Rockhust University are encouraged to act on their commitments and values through service to others. Each year the Office of Mission and Ministry sponsors domestic and international service trips to places such as: Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Bahamas, Baltimore, New Orleans, and West Virginia (Appalachia). The days are filled with labor (building/painting homes & schools, and work in shelters and the communities), while the evenings focus on prayer & reflection. Previous building experience and Spanish fluency are not necessary – just an open heart and a willing spirit. These opportunities have as their goals: prayer & reflection, seeking understanding, building relationships and solidarity. Contact Gregg Grovenburg, S.J. at 816-5014829 for more information. If interested, please download the registration (102KB PDF) and turn it into the Student Development office.
