Rockhurst's Greek system can trace its roots
back to 1924 with the founding of Alpha Delta Gamma,
a group of young men seeking a common bond of academic
fellowship. A second fraternity, Tau Kappa Epsilon,
was founded in 1966. In 1973 Sigma Alpha Epsilon became
the third men's organization and in 1996, a fourth fraternity
Pi Kappa Alpha, was added. Rockhurst's women's organizations
have a much shorter history. Alpha Sigma Alpha and Zeta
Tau Alpha were founded in 1994. Delta Xi Phi Multicultural Sorority joined the campus community in May 2006 and Theta Phi Alpha joined in February 2007.
While each of these seven organizations is unique in
its ritual and traditions, all of them share the common
bond of developing lifelong friendships, dedication
to service with a strong emphasis on academic success.
