Phi Sigma Tau is an international philosophy honor society for undergraduate students. Founded in 1930, it fosters academic excellence as well as philosophical interest. In addition to providing a means of awarding distinction to students with scholarly achievement, the Society also promotes interest in philosophy among the general collegiate community. The Society publishes an official journal twice yearly, hosts an annual dinner honoring initiates, and yearly sponsors a campus-wide discussion on a timely philosophical subject. The chapter selects those students who show special philosophical abilities and who can demonstrate the significance of philosophy in Jesuit education and its overall primacy in liberal education. |
