Prayer & Fellowship
Catholics In Action (CIA)
Students gather each week to explore a variety of topics that deepen their intellectual understanding and lived expression of their Catholic faith. This group meets weekly at 3pm in the Campus Ministry Center. Contact Cindy Schmersal at 816-501-4303 for more information.
Catholic Study Minor
For more information about a Catholic Studies minor, contact Dr. Richard Janet at 816-501-4053, or go to Rockhurst's Thomas More Center for the Study of Catholic Thought and Culture.
Christian Life Communities (CLC)
By joining a CLC, you will meet each week with a group of 5-8 students for prayer, spirituality, and reflection. Students can remain with the same CLC, with the same people for all their college years. CLC groups also participate in community service projects together. CLCs are open to people of all faith traditons. For more information, contact Bill Kriege at 816-501-4855.

Pasta and Prayer
While school is in session, we gather every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Mabee Chapel then visit the Campus Ministry Center (5134 Forest) for dinner. We begin with a half-hour of prayer and then share a meal together. The prayer takes various forms: Mass, guided meditation,
Taize, shared reflections, Stations of the Cross, even a reflection on pumpkin-carving!
After prayer, we then enjoy one another’s company around the dinner table.
We hope you are able to join in, if not every week at least when your schedule allows! Even those with night classes at 5:30 or 6 p.m. on Tuesdays are able to attend for both the prayer and the pasta. Contact Cindy Schmersal at (816) 501-4303 for more information.
Spiritual Guidance
The Campus Ministry staff is available to students, staff, and faculty who want to discuss, on a regular or occasional basis, issues relating to their faith journeys in a safe, open, and confidential manner. For more information, contact Campus Ministry at 816-501-4063.
The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola
The inspiration and source of "all things Jesuit," the Spiritual Exercises is a process of prayer and discernment designed to "lead a person to true spiritual freedom so that any choice or decision is made according to an ordered set of values rather than according to any disordered desire." Throughout the school year, participants meet regularly with a director at a time convenient to their individual schedules. For more information, contact Maureen Henderson at 816-501-4869.
