Advertising
The executive director of Public Relations and Marketing develops a detailed annual advertising plan in consultation with recruiting directors in all undergraduate and graduate programs. The office solicits feedback at the end of each major campaign to confirm the effectiveness of the campaign, or to fine-tune future campaigns, if necessary.

In order to maintain a consistent branding for Rockhurst University, all advertising is developed or coordinated by the PRM office.

Media Relations
The media relations director works to identify Rockhurst achievements and strengths and to target relevant print and broadcast media. We also respond to media requests for information and work to provide Rockhurst experts wherever suitable, and can offer media training for Rockhurst faculty and staff.

Any member of the Rockhurst community with an idea for a story that might interest the media is invited to e-mail or call the director at (816) 501-4151. The director will decide how best to handle the item, taking into consideration news-worthiness and time frame.

Community Relations
The community relations director aims to develop positive relations between the University and its neighbors, as well as elected officials. The director also manages the Community Center, located at the entrance of the campus. The director can be reached via e-mail or (816) 501-4306.

Publications
In order to maintain consistency of message and design, all external publications are either developed in-house or approved by the executive director of PRM.

The senior publications editor can write the content, or work with content developed by different offices on campus. The creative director will design the piece and find the best printer to fit the project. Publications requiring a rush turnaround may be outsourced by the executive director of PRM. The senior publications editor can be reached via e-mail or (816) 501-4616. The creative director can be reached via e-mail or (816) 501-4336.

The PRM office publishes three publications; Rockhurst magazine, Rockhurst Community and the Rockhurst Daily News.

  • Rockhurst magazine, published twice per year, is the main vehicle for communicating how Rockhurst is accomplishing its mission. Its target audiences are alumni, donors and friends of the University. The editor of Rockhurst magazine can be reached via e-mail or (816) 501-4151.
  • Rockhurst Community is a monthly newsletter for faculty and staff. The editor can be reached via e-mail or (816) 501-4232.
  • Rockhurst Daily News (RDN) is an internal bulletin for faculty, staff and students published during the fall and spring semesters. Information for the RDN may be submitted via e-mail from a Rockhurst e-mail account.

Photography
The University does not have an in-house photographer. We hire professional photographers for major campus events.

The Rockhurst Web Site
PRM is responsible for the overall presence of the University on the Web. The office develops the look and feel of the site, the navigation, and the content for top-tier pages.

PRM works with various offices' "documasters" to help them update their department's content. PRM provides training and ongoing troubleshooting for documasters to ensure their pages are kept as current as possible. Policy and guidelines for the Web site were approved by the president's staff and should be followed by all campus departments. Departments wishing to overhaul their presence on the site should contact the Web developer via e-mail or at (816) 501-4587.
