Subject List of Databases
http://www.rockhurst.edu/services/library/electronic/subjlist.asp
All databases are accessible from the library and on-campus locations via IP address recognition. Most are also accessible from off campus. Password protected or librarian assisted databases are indicated on the page indicated above, under the "Access Notes" column and require authorization by library staff to access. Patrons should call or email the librarian for information about access.
Alphabetical List of Databases
http://www.rockhurst.edu/services/library/electronic/alpha.asp
All databases are accessible from the library and on-campus locations via IP address recognition. Most are also accessible from off campus. Password protected or librarian assisted databases are indicated on the page indicated above, under the "Access Notes" column and require authorization by library staff to access. Patrons should call or email the librarian for information about access.
Links to Full Text Articles from Databases: The library uses Article Linker from Serials Solutions to link patrons from citations in databases to full text articles in both electronic and print formats.
Walk-in Usage: Some databases are available for one-time walk in usage for patrons who are not students, faculty or staff of the university. Access is restricted, so users should call or email the librarian for information on access.
Only Rockhurst University students, faculty and staff may use the library's subscription databases from off campus.
Most of the library databases are IP address recognition access. Exceptions are noted for password protected databases on the access pages listed under the Databases section above and require authorization from library staff to access.
Off campus access to all library databases, except those indicated password protected or librarian assisted, is available via the VPN proxy server. Instructions for off campus access through the VPN proxy server can be found on the Off Campus Database Access page: http://www.rockhurst.edu/services/library/electronic/remote.asp.
Special Note about the VPN Proxy Server: This proxy server allows access to the campus network in two ways. The first way requires the student, faculty or staff to download McAfee anti-virus software to their computer. This method allows them to access other things besides library databases. The directions for doing this are on the VPN proxy server login page, on the right side of the screen. This must be done before they can log into VPN.
Patrons who cannot download the application, due to firewalls or other technology issues, should be directed to the Computer Services Help Desk at 816-501-4357 and ask to be put into a special group that allows access only to library databases. The library staff cannot do this, nor can we resolve technological issues about VPN.
Special Note about RefWorks access from off campus: Students and Faculty must access RefWorks through the VPN proxy server. We do not give out a group code to access RefWorks. All students and employees must use the VPN proxy server. Once they have logged into VPN, they should link to the RefWorks database as listed in the Alphabetical List of Databases. They enter their personal login at that point.
Off campus users who are trying to use the Write-N-Cite application associated with RefWorks may have problems accessing the references inside Write-N-Cite. Information about how to troubleshoot this is available on the Rockhurst University Intranet site accessible through the VPN proxy server.
Periodical holdings are listed in both the Periodicals Holdings List and the Rockhurst University Online Catalog.

Library account numbers are displayed at the bottom of the student or employee ID card. The number begins with 10006, a common string of digits, and each student or employee has a string of 7 unique digits which follow the common string. Once an account has been created the patron will be given a Unique Campus ID number for their account which is used in ordering books online from MOBIUS libraries.
Currently enrolled students, faculty and staff may view their library account information via the "View Your Library Account" link in the online catalog: https://wilo.missouri.edu/patroninfo.
