National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.

This site allows one to view many of the works in the National Gallery of Art. One can search for an individual work or take a tour of one of the gallery's collections.

National Museum of American Art

Over 8,000 images from the Smithsonian American Art Museum have been digitized. They can be searched for by the author's name or browsed in a variety of subjects.

Webmuseum Paris

One of the first websites for art, this premiere web resource contains extensive information on the arts, including a vast list of artists with biographical information and images of important artworks. This very impressive site claims to contain over 10 million documents. The works are organized by artist and by theme and are easily accessible. There is an additional section on the history of Paris that contains numerous photographs.
