Off Campus Access to Databases

RefWorks

This is a bibliography management program that allows Rockhurst University faculty, students and staff to set up their own online account to manage electronic citations imported from databases subscribed to by the Greenlease Library as well as input citation information from print sources. These citations are easily incorporated into documents created in word processing programs. Many citation formats are included.

Only Rockhurst University email accounts may be used with RefWorks accounts. As with all library databases, access from off campus must be done through the VPN proxy server.

RefWorks users who also use the Write-N-Cite application may experience a problem accessing this application if you are off campus. Information about accessing Write-N-Cite from off campus is available through the VPN proxy server.

Adding References Manually to RefWorks (includes information on attaching files to references)

Using Write-N-Cite through VPN will require you to open a new browser window after logging into VPN, then log into RefWorks in the new browser window. This will allow users to log into the Write-N-Cite application using their RefWorks login and password. There is no group code for accessing Write-N-Cite. If Write-N-Cite does not work, use the One Line/Cite View option within RefWorks to do intext citations.
