Director of Student Life - Student Development
Rockhurst University, located in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri has an opening for a Director of Student Life. The successful candidate will provide a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular opportunities for students. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: advise fraternity and sorority community and programs; plan and implement leadership development programming for existing and new leaders; manage allocation process of the Student Activity Fee (over $500,000 annually); provide guidance for the Social Activities Board; negotiate entertainment contracts for University performances; coordinate the University’s calendar of events for all student organizations and Student Development programs; and facilitate University wide programs throughout the year.
The position requires a Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, or Student Affairs and 3 to 5 years related experience. The position also requires excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to collaborate with a team of Student Development and other University/non-University professionals, and skills in using Microsoft Office products. Experience with performance contracts and riders, web page design, and training in and facilitation of leadership development is also desired.

Assistant Director of Student Life – Student Development
Student Development is seeking a motivated higher education professional committed to student learning and development to fill this position. The incumbent will have responsibility for providing guidance on traditional event programming including Homecoming, Family Weekend, Rockhurst Day, Rockstock, etc. Plan and implement new student orientation programs including training and development for student groups and student staff recruitment. Provide coordination for student organizations including overseeing the student organization registration process each semester. Instruct one (1) section of a one (1) credit hour leadership course each semester. Coordinate the annual Student Development Leadership awards process including collecting submissions, determining award winners and assisting with the Festival of Student Achievement week committee. Some evening and weekend work is required.

It is a comprehensive university offering more than 50 undergraduate and graduate programs taught by nationally recognized faculty. We employ approximately 500 faculty and staff.
