Tenure Track Positions - Department of Education
Rockhurst University, the Jesuit University in Kansas City, Missouri, seeks candidates for two (2) full-time tenure track positions in the Department of Education beginning in August 2009.
Candidates should hold a doctorate in education or a related field and demonstrate the potential to contribute to the intellectual vitality of the department through excellence in teaching, scholarship and service. ABD candidates will be considered. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs, supervision of student teachers, advisement of pre-service teachers, and collaboration with other faculty. Experience working in K-12 schools and post-secondary levels, with diverse populations and with a variety of learners is preferred. Possible assignments include:
Technology position: educational technology and curriculum courses.
Generalist position: literacy, special education, educational psychology.

Tenure Track Faculty Position - Communication Sciences and Disorders
The Rockhurst University (Kansas City, MO) Communication Sciences and Disorders Department, a CAA accredited program, invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position. A terminal degree is preferred, however, ABD applicants or applicants with a master’s degree, currently enrolled in a doctoral program and certification in speech-language pathology will be considered. Successful applicants will be expected to engage in graduate and undergraduate education, research within area of specialty, and service to the university and community. Assistant Professor - Organic Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry at Rockhurst University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Organic Chemistry at the Assistant Professor level for Fall, 2009. We are a collaborative department that actively engages students in the learning process and promotes innovative teaching styles, the use of technology in the classroom, and undergraduate research.
Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. Teaching responsibilities will primarily include organic chemistry class and lab, although other elective or instrumental classes could be included. Faculty members are expected to direct undergraduate student research projects. Service and scholarship activity is also expected for tenure and promotion.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry and teaching experience at the college level. Review of applications will begin after October 1, 2008 and will continue until the position is filled.

Department of Occupational Therapy
Two Positions Available
Rockhurst University seeks two full-time, tenure-track faculty in the Master of Occupational Therapy Program. These nine-month appointments require responsibilities in teaching, scholarship and service. Seeking candidates with expertise in pediatrics or mental health/behavioral theories. Prefer candidates with a doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related field; however, consideration will also be given to candidates who have made substantial progress toward the completion of a doctorate; 2+ years of clinical experience; previous teaching experience; eligibility for licensure in MO or KS is required.
