Each semester, Plays-in-Progress Workshop initiates a playwriting contest. Contest rules stipulate that the entered play must neither have been previously performed nor given a public reading. The winner receives $250 and an invitation to present his or her play before a studio audience. Following the reading, audience members discuss the play with the playwright, director, and cast members in order to assess the creative potential of the works in progress.
The public is invited. Donations may be given at the door; a reception follows.
