Former Rockhurst tennis player Ian Cunliff assumed duties as the
interim head men’s and women’s tennis coach on Sept. 4, 2007.
Cunliff is replacing Kendell Hale, who became the head coach at
Missouri-Kansas City after spending the past 11 years at Rockhurst.
Cunliff was a four-year lettermen for the Hawks from 2000-04. He played on four NCAA Tournament teams and was a two-time Academic
All-American.
After graduating from Rockhurst, Cunliff was the assistant men’s tennis coach at Missouri-Kansas City from 2004-05.
Cunliff has served as a full-time staff professional at the Northland Racquet Club in North Kansas City, Mo., since 2005. He was the director of operations and is currently the interim director of juniors at Northland Racquet Club. He is also ranked No. 4 in the Missouri Valley for open singles.
Cunliff graduated from Rockhurst in 2004 with a degree in literature and writing.
