Men's and Women's Tennis: Mayorga-Perry Named New Tennis Coach at Rockhurst
Rockhurst University Director of Athletics Richard Konzem announced that Carolina Mayorga-Perry has been named the new men’s and women’s tennis coach. Mayorga-Perry is replacing Kendell Hale, who became the head coach at the University of Missouri-Kansas City after spending the past 11 years at Rockhurst.
"Carolina has an impressive background in directing tennis programs," Konzem said. "She was an outstanding collegiate player and is currently one of the top amateur players in the Kansas City area."
Mayorga-Perry was a two-time All-American at the University of Kentucky in 2001-02. She was an NCAA doubles semifinalist and ranked No. 3 in the nation. She was also the recipient of the National Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship in 2002.
"I am really excited about the opportunity to coach at Rockhurst and to continue to build up the tennis program," Mayorga-Perry said. "I would like to thank Richard Konzem for this opportunity and I look forward to a great season."
After graduating from Kentucky in 2003, Mayorga-Perry was an assistant tennis professional in Lexington, Ky. She has served as the director of tennis at the National Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo., since 2003.
Mayorga-Perry graduated from Kentucky with a degree in International Economics and Foreign Languages. She received her Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
