Women's Soccer: Hawks suffer 2-1 loss at Northern Kentucky

Northern Kentucky held Rockhurst to five shots in getting past the Hawks 2-1 Sunday in Wilder Ky.

Abby Davidson scored her fifth goal of the season at the 70:19 mark to pull Rockhurst within one goal of the Norse.

Northern Kentucky scored in the 35th minute and 68th minute while posting 17 shots.

Erin Valenta led the Hawks with two shots. RU goalkeeper Alyssa Miller finished with five saves.

On Friday, Bellarmine scored in the second overtime period to edge Rockhurst 2-1 in Louisville, Ky.

The Hawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a goal from Elle Holtmann at the 37:42 mark. Christie Moreland assisted on the goal. The Knights tied it at 1-1 just 26 seconds later with a 20-yard shot.

Bellarmine outshot the Hawks 22-8. Lindley, Anna Alfonsin and JoJo Palko led the Hawks with two shots apiece. Miller made nine saves for Rockhurst.

The Hawks, 6-6-1 and 5-4-1 in the GLVC, host Indianapolis on Friday at 5 p.m.
