| Women's Golf: Hawks drop dual with UMKC
The Rockhurst Hawks opened the 2006-07 season by dropping a dual match with Missouri-Kansas City, 324-338, Thursday at Ironhorse Golf Club in Leawood, Kan.
Junior Jill Shatkus led the Hawks with a third-place finish with an 18-hole score of 81. She finished three shots behind UMKC's Brittnay Hofer, who claimed the medalist honors.
Freshman Amber Koehl tied for fourth with an 83 and sophomore Carmen Titus came in ninth with an 86. Freshmen Alison Nugent (89) and Courtney Claussen (92) placed 11th and 12th, respectively, to round out RU's finishers.
The Hawks next play in the Drury Region Shootout on Monday and Tuesday in Springfield, Mo.
