Women's Basketball: Hawks suffer exhibition loss at UMKC
The Rockhurst Hawks evened their exhibition record to 1-1 with a 103-61 loss to Missouri-Kansas City Thursday, Nov. 2 at UMKC's Swinney Recreation Center. Box Score
Rockhurst, coming off an 82-75 victory over MidAmerica Nazarene on Monday night, got behind early. The Hawks trailed 15-5 in the first five minutes and trailed 52-23 at halftime.
Senior center Courtney Farmer led the Hawks with 23 points on 10 of 23 shooting from the field. Freshman guard Ali Fromm also scored in double figures with 10 points. Sophomore forward Julie Cook led RU with seven rebounds.
Rockhurst connected on 21 of 57 field goals for 36.8 percent shooting, while the Kangaroos hit 40 of 72 shots for 55.6 percent field-goal shooting. UMKC won the rebound battle by a 41-33 margin.
The Hawks open the regular season at Northwest Missouri State on Wednesday, Nov. 15, in a 7 p.m. tipoff.
