Women's Basketball: Hawks drop GLVC opener at UW-Parkside
Wisconsin-Parkside spoiled Rockhurst's opening game in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 78-62 victory over the Hawks Thursday night in Somers, Wis. Box Score
The Hawks, who trailed 47-25 at halftime, closed out the game on a 14-0 run in the final four minutes. Freshman Ali Fromm and Tori Hartin combined to score 12 of those 14 points.
Senior center Courtney Farmer led the Hawks with 16 points on six of 13 shooting from the field. She also recorded three blocked shots.
Sophomore forward Amy Hake and Fromm each finished with 11 points. Sophomore forward Julie Cook posted a team-high six assists.
Rockhurst connected on 22 of 57 field goals for 38.6 percent shooting. Parkside hit 29 of 57 shots (50.9 percent). The Rangers also won the rebound battle by a 44-27 margin.
The Hawks (2-3, 0-1 GLVC) face Lewis on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Romeoville, Ill.
