Men's Basketball: RU's Deas, Torson named to All-GLVC Third Team
 Rockhurst's Joey Deas (left) and John Torson were both named to the 2008 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball All-Conference Third Team in a vote among the league’s 14 head coaches.
Deas finished 11th in the GLVC in scoring with a 16.0 average. The senior guard also ranked fifth in three-point field goals made (2.52 pg), 10th in free throw percentage (.792) and 10th in minutes played (32.8 pg) in the GLVC. He ended his four-year career with the Hawks with 1,225 points, 243 assists and 184 three-point field goals made.
Torson averaged 15.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game this season. The senior center ranked first in the GLVC and 14th in the NCAA Division II in blocked shots. He also stands 15th in scoring and fifth in rebounding in the league. Torson finished with 1,206 points, 644 rebounds and 215 blocked shots in four seasons at Rockhurst.
