Men's Basketball: RU's Hill selected GLVC Player of the Week
Rockhurst’s Aaron Hill was selected the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season. The junior guard averaged over 30 points per game in leading the Hawks to conference wins over Drury and Missouri S&T last week.
In Rockhurst’s 93-82 win over Drury on Thursday, Hill poured in a career-high 36 points and set a GLVC single-game record by finishing the night 16-for-16 from the free-throw line. He was 7-for-17 from the field and hit 6-of-11 three-point attempts in the victory. In addition, Hill added three assists and a steal.
Rockhurst topped S&T on Saturday, 84-72, and Hill posted a game-high 27 points. He was 9-for-17 from the field and 5-for-10 from behind the three-point line. Hill also had four assists and two steals in the win.
For the week, Hill averaged 31.5 points, 3.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game. He was a perfect 20-for-20 from the free throw line in the two wins and finished 11-for-21 (.524) from behind the three-point line.
Hill is averaging 20.8 points per game to rank second in the GLVC in scoring. He is leading the league with 3.73 three-point field goals made per game and is third in free-throw percentage (88.3 percent).
Rockhurst is in second place in the GLVC West Division with a 10-3 league mark. The Hawks, 14-8 overall, host Park Wednesday at 6 p.m. and visit Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
