Men’s Basketball: Hawks host UNO in regular season opener
The Rockhurst Hawks open the 2009-10 regular season at home against Nebraska-Omaha on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
UNO, a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, were picked to finish sixth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Mavericks opened their season with a 96-67 victory over Doane on Sunday.
Rockhurst holds a 13-12 lead over UNO in the all-time series. The Hawks defeated the Mavericks 76-63 during the 2006-07 season at the American Family Hoopster Classic in Mankato, Minn.
Guard Aaron Hill returns for his senior season after averaging 20.0 points per game. The 2008-09 Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year has been named to every NCAA Division II Preseason All-American team.
The Hawks wrapped up their exhibition schedule with a 68-62 loss at Benedictine College on Nov. 10 in Atchison, Kan. Senior forward Jawan Davis led Rockhurst with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
