Baseball: Hawks face Indianapolis in first round of GLVC Tournament
The Rockhurst Hawks will face Indianapolis in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament at noon Thursday at the GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Ill.
The Hawks, 35-19, finished second in the GLVC West Division and are seeded fourth in the GLVC Tournament. Indianapolis, 37-17, is the third seed in the GLVC Tournament after tying Northern Kentucky for first place in the GLVC East Division.

Hawks sweep Missouri Southern
On Sunday, senior third baseman Tyler Knust hit a walk-off double down the left-field line in the ninth inning to give the Hawks a 4-3 victory over Missouri Southern in the first game of a doubleheader at RU's Loyola Park.
Knust drove home senior left fielder Justin Fujarski from first base with no outs. Fujarski opened the inning with a single to left center. Knust and Fujarski both collected two hits, along with senior Nick Troilo, to lead the 12-hit Rockhurst attack.
Freshman Kirk Huismann pitched the final two innings to earn his fourth win of the season.
Junior Mike Walczuk went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Hawks to a 9-6 win in the second game. Walzcuk, who is now batting .415 this season, hit a three-run double in the fourth and a run-scoring single in the first.
Junior Tom Stevision drove in two runs with a triple in the third. Senior Jordan Myers added two hits in his final home game. Knust singled in the first to extend his hitting streak to 17 games.
Senior Frank Allen won his sixth game of the season and freshman Mark Himmelberg picked up his second save.
