Men’s Basketball: RU’s Hill named to Preseason All-America Teams
Rockhurst guard Aaron Hill has been named to The Sporting News NCAA Division II Preseason All-America Second Team and the Division II Bulletin Super 16 All-American Team.
The senior from Canton, Ill., averaged 20.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for the Hawks last season. He helped the Hawks to a 19-11 record, a second place finish in the Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division and a trip to the NCAA Midwest Regional in Findlay, Ohio.
Hill led the GLVC in three-point field goals made (3.7 pg). He also ranked second in scoring, third in three-point field goal percentage (45.1) and third in free-throw percentage (86.8).
He was named to the Division II Bulletin All-America Second Team, All-District First Team in the Midwest Region by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and the All-Midwest Region Second Team by Daktronics.
Rockhurst opens the regular season at home Nov. 18 against Nebraska-Omaha. The Hawks will play in the Hillyard Classic Nov. 20-21 in St. Joseph, Mo., and will then face Central Missouri in the Sprint Center on Nov. 24 in a 2:30 tipoff.
