Men's Basketball: Hawks return to Sprint Center on Nov. 24
The Rockhurst Hawks will return to the Sprint Center on Tuesday, Nov. 24 to face the Central Missouri Mules.
Rockhurst and Central Missouri will meet for the second year in a row at the Sprint Center. The game, officially announced on Sept. 30, is being co-hosted by the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) as part of the 2009 O’Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic at the Sprint Center.
The Hawks and Mules will play on the second day of the two-day Division I event. Tip-off is at 2:30 p.m., with doors opening at 2 p.m. Admission for the afternoon game will be free.
Tickets will be on sale for those wishing to return and watch the consolation and championship rounds of the Division I tournament that evening. Division I schools participating in the event at the Sprint Center include Texas, Pittsburgh, Wichita State and Iowa.
Rockhurst advanced to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional and finished with a 19-11 record in 2008-09. The Hawks finished second in the GLVC West Division with a 13-4 record.
Central Missouri went 30-5 in 2008-09. The Mules won the MIAA Championship Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four.
