Physical Exam

You must be examined by an American Medical Association (AMA) certified physician and complete a pre-participation physical exam after June 1, 2009 to be eligible for practice and competition during the 2009-2010 season. The physical forms are available on the Rockhurst web site listed above.  (Physicals conducted by a chiropractor will not be accepted.)

Insurance – Athletics Participation

Included in this mailing is a letter explaining athletics participation accident insurance carried by Rockhurst University through the NCAA and Mutual of Omaha. This is an “excess policy” that will only be used in the event of a bodily injury sustained during an authorized athletic event. This plan is in addition to your required primary health insurance coverage provided by your parents or as an optional purchase through Rockhurst.

Student-Athlete Move-in, First Practice Dates

Move-in date for Volleyball and Soccer is Monday, August 10th.

Move-in for all other student-athletes is Saturday, August 15th.

Student-Athlete Team Meetings

Each team will meet at the beginning of the school year for orientation and in-person completion of required NCAA forms and educational materials. We will also conduct an all student-athlete meeting during orientation week.

Expectations of Excellence:

• This is a great time in your life, so take full advantage of the opportunities that Rockhurst has to offer. You’ll remember this time the rest of your life, so make the memories good ones.
• Play hard and compete … 8 of our 11 teams participated in NCAA Championships last year; 2 GLVC Championship teams, 3 GLVC Team Sportsmanship Awards.
• You represent yourself, your family, your team, your coach and Rockhurst; we will hold you accountable for your actions.
• Prepare for your life after college and after sports … study … go to class. Use college athletics and your time at Rockhurst to get your degree.
