Rockhurst Again Named to Community Service Honor Roll
For the second year in a row, Rockhurst University has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll is in its third year of publication and recognizes schools based on several factors, including the innovative quality and effectiveness of service projects, the number of participants involved in service endeavors and the amount of service-learning courses offered to students.
In all, 635 schools were listed on the Honor Roll for their community service activities during the 2007-08 academic year. Including Rockhurst, 23 Jesuit colleges and universities were named to the 2008 Honor Roll. Jesuit education emphasizes discovering and using one’s gifts and talents to serve others.
The Corporation for National and Community Service, along with the U.S. Departments of Education and Housing and Urban Development, sponsor the honor roll program. |
